Yangjiang Vocational &
Technical College, accredited by Guangdong provincial government, is
a comprehensive and multidiscipline college under the jurisdiction
of Yangjiang municipality, which is an excellent city of tourism
with the honoured titles of "the knife and scissors capital in
China ", "the home of kite-flying in China " and
"the public welfare star city in China ".
Yangjiang Vocational &
Technical College covers an area of 540,000 square meters, its
construction area reaching 110,000 square meters. There are more
than 20 special-purpose laboratories and rooms, such as multimedia
labs, psychology labs, language labs, electronic piano rooms,
audio-video reading-rooms, demonstration teaching-rooms, etc. The
total worth of the teaching facilities and apparatus amounts up to
16,000,000 Chinese Yuan (¥).40,000,000 Chinese Yuan(¥) has
been invested in the advanced teaching apparatus in store. The
library possesses 240,000 copies of books. Presently, the college
has employed 290 staff members with 219 members as teachers, among
whom are 36 postgraduates, 2 professors and 52 associate professors
and senior engineers and 91 lecturers. Now, 5018 students are on the
list studying with more than 20 specialties opened such as
commercial English, electronic business, gardening, law, tourism
management, aquaculture, Chinese, math, English education, etc. The
college attaches great importance to the development of the teaching
courses of digital-control skill, mould design and making,
mechanical and electrical integration, electrical automation skill,
practical computer skill and maintenance, information skill,
automobile test and maintenance, etc.
The
college persists in the direction of cultivating the growth of
advanced professional talents for the modem manufacturing industry
and modem service industry, pursuing the way of the integration of
teaching, research and manufacture.
The
goal of the college development is: by 2008, the school-running
scale will have reached an enrollment of 10,000 students, and the
school-running conditions will have met the level of the
undergraduate course college. For the teaching quality, the college
will strive to build itself into one of the prominent advanced
vocational colleges with their own special characteristics in
Guangdong province and make greater contribution to the construction
of the province into a great and famous cultural one.
